学生就业计划

The 学生就业计划 is designed to assist you in meeting your financial obligations while providing “hands on” career building opportunities. You must live on-campus and be packaged with student employment during the admissions process in order to be eligible to participate in the 学生就业计划. You are assigned to on-campus or off-campus positions.

  • 工作分配 & 调度

Most incoming students will be placed in Hospitality Services for their first academic award year at MVC. In the academic award years to follow students can request specific work study jobs that they would prefer to be employed through. Our job placement policy is strategic to help students develop a sense of responsibility along with building credentials to help prepare students for entrance into the job market upon graduation. All students are expected to report to their supervisor for scheduling during the first week of classes for the fall and spring semesters. Failure to report during the first week of classes could result in being transferred or terminated from the program.

There is no penalty for choosing not to participate in the program. Students who do not want to participate should contact the 学生就业 Coordinator immediately upon making the decision.

  • 工作转移

Transferring between jobs is possible and will only be considered if the current supervisor will release the student worker or there are medical limitations that prohibit the worker from successfully carrying out job responsibilities. 要请求转帐,a 转账申请表格  必须完成. Transfers are on a case-by-case basis and at the approval of the Coordinator.

  • 薪酬结构

The 学生就业 program is designed to offer students a means to help defray the cost of a college education while giving them practical work experience. Students must work in order to receive work study payments and are required to complete timesheets for each pay period. There is no penalty if a student does not finish working their allotted hours each semester; however, the student will only be paid for the hours that are completed.

The pay period runs from the 16th of each month to the 15th of the following month, while some pay period months may be shortened or lengthened due to holiday breaks. Earnings are directly deposited in the student’s bank account, typically on the 25th of each month (with exceptions if the 25th is on a weekend and holiday breaks) for work completed during the previous pay period.

Most on campus jobs pay Missouri minimum wage. Off campus jobs have a slight pay increase allotted for traveling expenses. Students are required to monitor their hours each pay period. Students are not allowed to work over their pay period or semester allotment unless approved by the 学生就业 Coordinator. Students are not allowed to earn more than their yearly work study allotment noted on their financial aid award.

  • 工时表 & 工作效率

Students are expected to keep their timesheets up to date, with exceptions of a supervisor having an approved alternative time keeping system in place. 工时表 are due in the 学生就业 Office no later than the 16th of each month (with exceptions of holiday breaks and weekends), students and supervisors will be notified if the due date has changed. The 学生就业 Coordinator will contact supervisors and students via MVC email one week prior to the due date as a reminder to turn in their timesheets. It is the responsibility of the student worker to ensure that their supervisor turns in the completed timesheets into the 学生就业 Office each month ON TIME, late timesheets may not be paid until a later pay date. Both the student and supervisor must sign the timesheet, if 主管 signature is missing this may result in no payment to the student. Each student should complete his or her timesheet thoroughly and keep a log of the hours completed to avoid any discrepancies between the records of the 学生就业 Office, 主管, 而学生. 如果学生被发现偷时间, 伪造考勤卡, or is working while scheduled to be in classes, the result may be automatic termination without reinstatement into the 学生就业计划.

Failure to meet the requirements set by 主管 or the student employment contract may result in disciplinary actions, 通知父母或监护人, and/or termination from the 学生就业 program without reinstatement.
